ACE DC Volunteers

Committee Involvement

Provides the most significant opportunity to impact ACE DC students.

Join a local ACE DC team to provide guidance and inspiration to youth interested in careers in the building and design industry. Lead hands on activities, lessons, and discussions. While mentoring requires the largest time commitment (approx. 4-6 hours per month), it is the most rewarding! See the interested mentors page to learn more about next steps.

Inspire ACE DC students at one of our team sessions.

Many of our ACE DC teams are interested in hosting guest speakers to present engaging and exciting material to students. This is a great chance to experience our program without the full commitment to mentoring.

Assist with ACE DC behind the scenes.

ACE DC is able to operate thanks to our many board members, mentors, and volunteers who are active on our committees. There are several different committees to choose from based on your interest on how you hope to impact ACE DC. Committees meet virtually about once per month.

Volunteer as a TPP mentor to work 1-on-1 with an ACE alum!

TPP Mentors provide professional, academic, and personal advice and support to ACE Alumni currently enrolled in a post-secondary program. Mentors engage with students virtually or in person through monthly or bi-weekly check-ins via email, text, phone, or virtual meetings.

Event Host

Work with ACE DC mentors to provide a hands on learning experience for students.

ACE DC teams are always looking for innovative job sites to take students on a field trip. Or, perhaps your office has a unique hands on area for students to experience an A/E/C profession. We also look for firms to provide space for meetings, mentor trainings, and other events throughout the year. These are limited commitment opportunities for firms, with a huge impact on ACE DC! Please email Emily Heimsoth, ACE DC Affiliate Director, at washingtondc@acementor.org to discuss further.

There are many ways to volunteer with ACE DC! Mentoring in our schools, guest speaking to our students, joining one (or more!) of our many committees, registering as a TPP mentor, or hosting an ACE DC event!
